HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA – The Huntington Beach Oilers have claimed the #1 seed in the Division 5 CIF Southern Section Playoffs. Last season, the Oilers had an impressive run in Division 6, reaching the semifinals before falling to Simi Valley on the road.
This Friday night, the Oilers will face the #16 seed, the 5-5 Western Pioneers. The last meeting between the two teams resulted in a 41-0 shutout by Huntington Beach at Handel Stadium back in 2021. This time, the matchup will take place at Cap Sheue Field, with the winner advancing to face the winner of the Torrance vs. Summit game.
