HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA — Yes, you read that correctly. The Huntington Beach Oilers have won their first road game since October 7th, 2022. The Oilers were back in action on the road against the Mayfair Monsoons, looking to extend their winning streak in this matchup after claiming victory in their last two meetings.
The Oilers wasted no time, scoring on the opening drive with a 2-play, 53-yard drive led by quarterback Brady Edmunds, putting them up 7-0. Capitalizing on the momentum, Huntington Beach recovered an onside kick, and later in the quarter, they drove 73 yards in 9 plays to extend their lead to 14-0 with less than two minutes remaining.
Mayfair responded in the second quarter with a 47-yard pass, but the Huntington Beach defense held strong, limiting the Monsoons to just 7 points by halftime.
